It's that time of the year again. Time to start planning for TechEd.
Let's just say that I'm somewhat glad I missed last year's TechEd in LA. If I'm going to be stuck in crowded rooms for 8 hours on 4 consecutive days then you should get a decent party at the end. Last year's party was canceled a month before the event. Good news is I hear this year's attendance levels are back up and the attendee party will be second to none.
Turning the way back machine on, it was April 2002 and TechEd was in New Orleans. The attendee party was at the Aquarium and Blues Traveler played the night away. One of the best attendee parties I can remember.
But back to the present and oil leaking in the Gulf. New Orleans is a new city, and I'm sure they're ready for 10,000 IT professionals to descend onto its power washed streets.
I haven't finished my schedule but by the looks Messaging has quite a few sessions. OCS14 is just released to TAP so I'm sure we'll see some demos but nothing super technical. Put that on the plate for TechEd 2011.
Things I've heard about that you may be interesting in:
Double-Takes PARTY is at the Republic. Cluster Funk will make an appearance. If you didn't hear DT was purchased by Vision Solutions. I hear the internal joke is they will rename the band Double-Vision.(I won't even credit this joke...)
Party is Tuesday night:
Tuesday, June 8, 2010 8 p.m. to midnight Republic
828 South Peters Street
New Orleans, LA 70130-1708
(504) 528-8282
You can get your wrist band at the booth or pre-register at http://www.doubletake.com/english/landing/Pages/TechEd-2010.aspx.
Don't miss the F5 Booth!!!
See you all at Tech-Ed. I'll be blogging live...
